Psychiatric Mental Health Clinic Located in Reston, Virginia – Diagnosis & Treatment for Better Mental Health

  • $400 for initial evaluation of 60 mins
  • $230 for follow-ups of 20 mins.
  • Please inquire rates for family sessions/ psychotherapy and forensic services:
    • Outside Appt Charges: Prescription Call-In’s Between Appt’s, Medication Changes or Prescription Transfers to other Pharmacies (due to supply issues): $25 for each controlled or early prescription called in during normal business hours. We are open Mon-Fri  9AM-4.30PM.  We are closed all times outside this and during holidays. (We only address non-controlled early refill requests under special circumstances).
  • Forms/ letters are charged according to the clinical time spent.
  • Brief psychotherapy is built-in to every appointment, but it’s optional how much you want to participate in it.
  • Normal ADHD testing can cost $1000 or more, with a wait-time of several months, mostly cash-based, but you still have to see a doctor for prescription.
  • Dr. Akram does ADHD diagnosis and treatment within 1-2 visits with minimal follow-ups.
  • Other work (court fees, contact w/ attorneys, miscellaneous. items): TBD

Payment & Cancellation Policy

Payment:

  • All appointments (initial and follow-up) must be paid in full at booking to reserve your time.That’s a non-refundable payment to hold your time and space exclusively.
  • A valid credit or debit card must be kept on file.

Cancellations:

  • You may cancel or reschedule with 48 hours’ notice at no cost.
  • Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, are non-refundable.
  • You will be responsible for the full appointment payment if you miss your appointment for any reason. 

Declined Payments:

  • If your card is declined, your appointment will not be held.
  • You are responsible for updating your payment method. Unpaid balances may pause services and may be sent to collections after 30 days.

Superbill Payment Info

You will be provided with a superbill entailing diagnosis, CPT codes and fees paid. You could submit this to your insurance claims department for reimbursement. 

Medicare patients: Unfortunately, Medicare specifically is cash-only. They actually have specific forms you must sign agreeing not to seek reimbursement. I can still help you, but at the cash-price. This only applies to Medicare.

Practice Overview & Appointment Policy – Dr. Akram

If you’re interested in using your insurance for reimbursement, please contact your insurance provider to ask about out-of-network mental health benefits. We’re happy to provide claim forms upon request as a courtesy, but it’s best to find out in advance if submitting them is worthwhile in your situation.

Once you are stable, the typical plan is to see you every 2-3 months for 20 minutes, making the cost just $80 per month. In our practice, you will feel heard, respected, and fully supported- just as we would want for ourselves or our loved ones. We try to follow the Golden Rule in every interaction.

Access & Availability: As a concierge practice, we offer fast appointment availability typically within one to two weeks, often sooner.
